Last Sunday was scary for everyone in the area. Smoke ans ash was falling all the way up in Osage from the fire on Ft Hood. The wind had changed and was taking the fire into the town of Flat and threatening Mound and Leon Junction.
Long story short, the hard work and heroics of the local Volunteer Fire Departments, the resources on Fort Hood and the Forest Service, very little damage was done. We want to honor the commitment of our VFDs and host a matching fundraiser!
